What is Hypnotherapy?

 

Hypnosis literally means 'sleep', or a sleep - like state, where an individual's mind is highly susceptible to positive suggestions. However a lot of stigmas have come to be attached to hypnosis due to lack of proper awareness. Kerala Hypnotists' Association, and in extension this clinic, aims to remove such misconceptions by educating the public about its potential and high therapeutic value.

It is said that we utilize only about 3 - 4% of our inner resources. hypnosis is a wonderful method by which one can unlock the hidden potentials of the subconscious mind, thereby releasing this inner resource. In the hands of a trained therapist, this, coupled with other psychotherapeutic methods and positive imagination, can become an effective tool in producing results normally unattainable through conventional methods.

As hypnotherapy aims at (and works with) addressing the subconscious rather than the conscious mind, results produced by it can be very effective, ranging from increasing memory and confidence to the treatment of deep - rooted personality disorders. Recent studies have proved that as an adjunct, it is highly recommended in treating even chronic somatic disorders.

In this clinic, we use hypnosis to enhance the effect of various psychotherapeutic methods, by aiming it at the subconscious, rather than the conscious levels of the mind. We also teach individuals the art of self-hypnosis and application of this science to change themselves into better human beings, thereby help make their life more meaningful and enjoyable.
